It is with great pleasure that I can tell you that this list marks the 10 year anniversary of the ‘monthly JC list’. I can hardly believe that it has been a full decade but I checked and could indeed find 120 folders on my computer dedicated to the journal club.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Anke Raaijmakers who knew about this milestone (as she was there when this list originated) and took the initiative to contact many of you. A few days ago she knocked on my door (with a mask and at 1.5m distance) with a basket full of presents. I am now the proud owner of two magnificent cook books, an excellent bottle of gin and possibly even better bottle of whisky, gift cards for a culinary hardware store, more books and a card with ‘thank you’ notes from many of you. I was really touched by the gifts and the messages and would like to thank all of those who contributed. I see no other option than to continue with this list for at least another decade and keep all of you up-to-date with the best of articles of the day…
In this list you can find fantastic contributions on knee injuries, procedural sedation, precocious puberty, vaccines in immunocompromised children, ADPKD and nephrotic syndrome.
In the part with the original clinical studies you may find the answer to the next questions:
And should we give a short or long course (2 studies!)?
And can pneumonia lead to AKI?…
