Journal Club february 2020

In the part with the review articles you can read interesting contributions about: NEC, surftactant and Sandifer.

In the part with the clinical studies, you may find the answer to the following questions:

  • Do obese children have longer kidneys?
  • Is constipation the main cause of rectal prolapse?
  • Are children with asthma more likely to have anaphylactic reactions?
  • Does morphine or methadone have a better neurobehavioral outcome when used for neonatal abstinence?
  • Does a caesarean delivery impact allergic outcomes in childhood?
  • Is double or single phototherapy better for neonatal jaundice?
  • Is ultrasound (without secondary signs of inflammation) sufficient for diagnosis even without appendix visualization?
  • Is obesity also a risk factor for pseudotumor cerebri in childhood (as it is in adults)?
  • Does the prevalence of intellectual impairment increase from childhood into adulthood in extreme preterms?
  • And are they shorter and lighter than their term born peers?
